Mid Coast Studios

Mid Coast Studios is the name I gave my little home recording system. I am still amazed by the quality you can get with a small, cheap system. My studio has evolved over the last 10 years, going from truly rudimentary, to expansive (well, at least by my standards) back to simple. Seems I just can't settle on one thing. Here's the current setup:

• Apple Macbook
• Mark of the Unicorn Digital Performer
• Finale PrintMusic
• M-Audio Fast Track Ultra USB2 audio interface
• Event TR-8 Monitors
• Assorted mics, including Oktava MK-012, AKG C3000, and Shure SM-57 and SM-58.

This system allows me to meet my needs for recording songs I'm working on, writing notation, and doing basic demos. I'm sure there are limitations to the all-computer system, but on my budget and for my needs, it's a great way to go. It fits well into my moto of "less is more."
